New Princess Cruises Ship, Sun Princess, to Feature Largest Casino at Sea
In an exciting development for cruise enthusiasts, Princess Cruises has announced that its new ship, the Sun Princess, set to sail in 2024, will boast the largest casino on a cruise ship. This expansive gaming area, spanning over 9,000 square meters, will be located on Deck 8 and will offer 227 modern slot machines and 13 live tables.
High rollers will have an exclusive high-limit slot area to enjoy their gaming experience. The casino will also feature the latest gaming equipment, including the latest gaming seats, connected and progressive blackjack and poker tables, and interactive, audiovisual experiences.
The Sun Princess' casino will not only cater to avid gamers but will also be surrounded by top-notch dining and entertainment options. John Padgett, President of Princess Cruises, expressed his pride in offering such exciting games alongside the ship's wide range of features.
The Sun Princess, apart from its large casino, offers more than 29 bars and restaurants, multiple entertainment venues, and unique architectural spaces such as The Dome and the three-story-high Piazza Atrium. The Dome is a glass-roof covered sundeck with a large indoor/outdoor pool that converts at night into an entertainment venue with live aerial shows. The Piazza Atrium provides a suspended, multi-level space with 360-degree views and access to cafes, bars, and lounges.
The ship also features 3-deck main dining rooms, 1,500 balcony staterooms with luxury amenities, fitness and spa facilities, sports options, children and teen areas, and specialty dining including exclusive venues for Sanctuary Balcony guests. It is powered by liquified natural gas for reduced emissions and offers modern staterooms with high-end furnishings and 24-hour room service.
The Sun Princess can accommodate up to 4,300 guests and will be constructed at the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy. Some games will be integrated into the Piazza, located next to the casino, for easier access.
It's worth noting that other cruise lines, such as Royal Caribbean, have established smoke-free casinos on some of their ships. However, the Sun Princess will continue to allow smoking in designated areas of its casino.
Apart from the casino, guests on the Sun Princess will have the opportunity to play classic table games like poker, roulette, or blackjack, as well as various slot machines and poker tournaments, similar to what is offered on AIDA ships.
The Sun Princess is scheduled to embark on its maiden voyage in February 2024. With its impressive casino, luxurious accommodations, and wide range of entertainment options, the Sun Princess is shaping up to be a must-visit for cruise lovers.
